CALL FOR ABSTRACTS | 6th LSP International Conference

The Linguistics Society of the Philippines opens is Call for Abstracts for the 6th LSP International Conference, with the theme “Transitions, Transmodalities, and Transverses in Linguistics, Languages, and Language Education”, which will be held on 11-13 April 2024, at the Isabela State University-Cauayan Campus, Cauayan City, Isabela, Philippines. This 3-day event is hosted by the Linguistic Society of the Philippines (LSP) and Isabela State University-Cauayan Campus (ISU-CC).

1. All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another conference or journal. The following categories are welcome:

• Paper presentations (20 minute presentations)
• Poster presentations
• Themed Panel presentations (90-minute presentations)

2. Abstracts (of 260 words) must be submitted here.

3. Abstracts must contain the following information:

• Full title of paper
• Five key words
• Author/s name/s and affiliation/s
• Bionote/s of the author/s
• Digital file with this label format: SURNAME_PAPER TITLE

4. Only two submissions are allowed per author, provided that he/she is principal author in one, and a non-primary author in the other.

5. Papers must fall under any of the following sub-themes:

A. Philippine Linguistics 

• Description and Documentation of Philippine Languages 
• Northern Philippine Languages, esp. Ibanag, Itawit, Yogad, Gaddang, Ilocano
• Multilingualism and Multiculturalism  
• MTB-MLE 

B. Hyphenated Fields in Linguistics

• Language and Culture
• World Englishes and Philippine English
• Discourse Analysis
• Sociolinguistics
• Psycholinguistics

C. English Language Teaching

• Second/Foreign Language Teaching and Learning
• Language Education and Teacher Development
• Educational Technology and Language Writing
• Reading, Writing, and Literacy
• Language Testing and Assessment

D. Conference Theme

• Transitions in Linguistics, Languages, and Language Education
• Transmodalities in Linguistics, Languages, and Language Education
• Transverses in Linguistics, Languages, and Language Education
